Felt pretty good this morning in that my legs weren't sore or stiff from the weekend run.  I really did feel good this past weekend on my run and I've been doing some thinking.  Bottom line is I really don't know what my body is capable of doing.  When I ran my a/p of 9:30 this past weekend I felt really good and I didn't give 100%.  I still had a lot left.  I was tired but not spent.  The question is was it 70%? 80%? 90%?  I would like to lean toward the 70%, but I just don't know.  I know I should try to do a 5K, but it's just not available to do here in this environment.  We shall see.  Here's today's splits:

11:48, 11:39, 10:50, 11:39 ...  I'm such a bum when I don't have someone to run with!  I'm a social runner!

Okay, after reading your post I just had to go look at Saturday's run. Wow, that was a great run - you look like you were feeling good for sure!!

Hi Barb. Yes I still have a blog, but I turned off the "public view" feature sometime last year during a spat of injuries. Guess I should turn it back on, but it sure doesn't compare well to other people's running! :) Are you in West Africa again? Any good places to run where you're at? And, YOU are good at encouraging me!

well Adele, thank you for turning your page back on! Good to see your face! Yes, I'm in West Africa...Republic of Guinea in the capital city, Conakry. I'm having a lot of fun training this year because there's a 'real' running coach here in town whose husband works for the Embassy, so I am really enjoying having someone to train with. Not many choices for training around here. For my during the week runs, I run on a compound where 6 laps around is a mile. IPOD comes in handy :-) Have a friend that runs with me maybe twice a week so that's good. Then for my long runs on Saturday, I've been running at the embassy compound where 2 times around is a mile. Good change of scenery and the running coach really pushes me! That's why my times on Saturday are so much better! I'm working on breaking the 4 hour barrier...getting older so I want to try now! Time is working against me! Not any opportunities for races here. Ha! So we'll see what the San Francisco Marathon brings my way the last Sunday in July...we shall see. Keep running Adele! Du courage!
